It was in the early 19th century, particularly in the 1820’s that Joseph Smith have seen a vision in the woods. He had seen two personages – one saying, "This is my son, hear ye him." Allegedly, the one speaking is the Father and he is pointing to his Son who is our Lord Jesus Christ. That is how the story goes.
I believe that this story is formulated by Joseph Smith, I am sorry to tell you. This story is full of lies. I was not there and I do not have any business judging the truthfulness or authenticity of this story but we are guided by the scriptures and the scriptures are our main basis of assessing whether a declaration is true or not.
